Alexr Collie and Agnes Allan

Looking for help in finding the marriage date of Alexr Collie and Agnes Allan
He was born 8 Dec 1688, in Alves Morayshire, father was Wm Collie, no mother given.
I have a date for an Agnes Allan born 19 Sept 1669 in Dyke Morayshire, which is quite close as the crow flies to Alves.
However children from the relationship were born in 1718 Rafford,1721 Rafford,1723 Rafford,1726 Rafford
and 1727 Kinloss. (Again all are close to Alves and Dyke.) which makes her birth date out of kelter with the
birth dates of the children. She would have been 49 at the time of the birth of the first child if her birth date above is
correct (info from ScotlandsPeople data base)
Any help much appreciated

Perhaps I'm reading more than you intended when you write 'I have a date for an Agnes Allan born 19 Sept 1669 in Dyke Morayshire, which is quite close as the crow flies to Alves.' Does that mean you are not sure of which Agnes Allan may have married Alexander Collie?
I notice that Agnes would be 19 years Alexander's senior. That's not impossible, but paired with her having her first child at 49, makes me wonder about her.

Spouse: AGNES SCOTT Family
Marriage: 26 JAN 1718 Saint Cyrus, Kincardine, Scotland which might be more in keeping with the birth years of their children.

There is also a record of an Agnes Scott marrying James Allan in 1799. Is it possible that your Agnes (if she was born in 1669) was married previously?

It might be worthwhile to enter the names of the children in the IGI to see if you can find a link that way, that is if you've not already tried that. Sometimes entering less information gives a broader selection to choose from and we manage to find things where we don't expect them.

Just some thoughts, and no real answers. Possibly someone else will have better ones than I (hopefully)

Hi Paddyscar,

Thanks for the info.
I have searched the IGI web site and confirmed the children, and and Inow have all the OPR Birth
entries for the children. It definitely says born to Alex Collie and Agnes Allan on each entry.
he Parishes are given as five from Rafford and one from Kinloss.
The actual place of birth is given as Burgie (also seen as Burgy) for both Rafford and Kinloss.
The first bith is 30 Nov 1718 (Marjory Collie), Parish Rafford, Place Burgie. The last birth is
20 Feb 1730 (William Collie) Parish Rafford, Place Burgie.
Having just been on holiday up there (Elgin) and trolled around the Burgie area, I suspect
they have either been missed off the OPR register or they just did not get married, or they
got married somewhere else.
I will also look at the possible Alves/Burgie connection. Also surname deviations.

The Hugh Wallis site shows only marriages from 1721 recorded at Rafford.
