There is a marriage for a couple of those names,
JAN 1844 New Monkland, Lanark, Scotland [on the IGI]

So maybe you can find them on the 1841 census with thier own parents - try freecen for free results.

Do you have the 1869 marriage record ? that should say if she was a widow or a spinster.
Scotlands People seems to have a marriage for a George Bathgate and Ann Weir after 1885 - have you not looked at that?

Can't see a death for her, but she could be hiding behind any of her names. or else died outside Scotland.

Annie and Alexander and their children are on the 1871 Scotland census and the 1881 England census. Annie is with George Bathgate on the 1891 England census.

James Lang, Ann's brother marries Janet Rennie in 1870 in Old Monkland. He was an engine keeper and both gave Luggie (?) Bridge as their residence. The record is on SP.

If you search Ancesry for James Lang and Janet Rennie, look for Janet Lang, b. 1851, Dunfermline, Fife. I found them on the 1881 and 1891 census', but James says on both that he was born in Canada instead of NY, USA! Haven't found them on the 1871 census yet. Janet Rennie's parents were James Rennie and Catherine Robertson.

Hi Cathy we may have the same family connection. Alexander Weir marrried to Annie lang was also my gt gt grandfather.

Here is some information I have.

Alexander Weir born 1847c Airdrie to parents Peter Weir and Margaret Williamson, married Annie Lang on 5/10/1869 at bothwell.(SCOTLANDS PEOPLE)
Alexander died on 13/5/1887 at 100 High Craighall Rd Port Dundas Glasgow.(SCOTLANDS PEOPLE)

Annie Lang born New york 1845c to parents William Lang and Janet Gibb, married Alexander first(same as above) then after Alexanders death she got married for a second time to George Bathgate on the 21/2/1890 at Bailleston both Annie and George were residing at High Craighall Rd at the time of marriage.

Annie died on the 18/2/1900 at 98 High Craighall Rd aged 52. On death cert it states that first husband Alexander weir was a brick layer and that second husband George Bathgate is a canal boatman, george was still living when Annie died.

Alexander and Annie are in the 1871 census for Airdrie New Monklands

Annie and George are in the 1891 census for Glasgow

Alexander Weir and Annie Langs children were.....

William Weir b 3/5/1871 4 Commonside St Airdrie( gt grandfather)

Peter Weir b 14/11/1869 Breadholm? forge Bellshill

Jessie Weir b 19/5/1875 206 (street name hard to read) Camlachie Glasgow

James Weir (cant find birth cert) 1880c and died 30/9/1895 at 98 High Craighall rd Glasgow

Alexander Weir b 22/11/1877 158 Salamanda St Parkhead Glasgow, died 9/4/1895 at 98 High Craighall Road

It seems that after moving from Airdrie, Alexander and Annie spent the rest of there lives at High Craighall Road Port Dundas Glasgow. This is where my Gt grandfather William weir,( married to Helen Scott). died.

Alexander and parents and siblings were born and grew up in Airdrie

Hope this is helpful to you

regards Rosie
