My grandfather Andrew Galloway married Helen(Nellie)Pye about 1905-1909, they had two children Anne and Leonard. Andrew left his family for Elizabeth Rankin and came to Yorkshire, they had one son (my father) but never married and they were then known as Mr and Mrs Morton. I am in touch with the Galloway family, but have been unable to trace any of the Rankin family. This is a long shot but wondered if any of the Pye family would have an information on this delicate subject. Most grateful.

Just playing around with the search function on Scotlands People, it looks like the marriage took place in 1905 in Kirkcaldy, Fife. Do you have a copy of that marriage? Just wondering if you know who Helen's parents were, so we could find out if there were any siblings and try to trace relatives this way. I found a Helen Stredman Pye in Kirkcaldy in 1901, age 22, daughter of David Pye, a cabinet maker, and Ann More Pye. I wonder if this is the correct family.

If you put the name Rankin in the search box above you will get 170 hits where it has had a mention in previous posts. There is a chance that you may find a surname association, or address, that proves of interest to your search.
