Arthur Beveridge Townhill Fife

Hi, Im looking for info on Arthur , All i know is that he was born around 1908 and lived in Main street Townhill, Im told his mother was the Distict Nurse and he had a younger sister named Anne, Any info would be greatly appriciated.

Have you looked for the family in the 1911 census? That would seem like a good place to start if he was born in 1908.

Have you viewed his birth entry at SP?

There is also a marriage indexed at SP in 1934 at Dunfermline of an Arthur Beveridge. If you look at this it should show his mother's occupation if she had one so you may be able to tell if he's the right man.

I can't see a death indexed in Scotland though.

Thanks Lesley and Annette, I checked 1911 census , Found Arthur Beveridge and wife Lily (nee Bell) with children Ann age 7 Arthur age 2, Also found birth cert for Arthur Drysdale Beveridge 20th Jan 1909 Townhill,

I think this a likely family for Lily in 1901 at Dunfermline -

John Bell 49 born Inverkeithing, Fife
Anne Bell 45 born Ballingry,(as transcribed) Fife
Lily Bell 18 born Dunfermline, Dressmaker
Mary Bell 4
Robert Low 40
David Gow 10

Was Arthur's mum named Christina?

Hi Annette, Yes,I think you are right about that being Lily's family, I found marriage cert for Arthur Beveridge and Lily Bell, Townhill 1903 showing Lily as a dressmaker age 20, Parents John /Anne ( Low ), Arthurs parents Andrew/Christina ( Grieg ) .
