Re: John Brown
Just for interest
His birth is on SP for 1826 at Crathie/Braemar, Aberdeenshire. Parents John Brown & Margaret Leys.
There are also at least 10 children born to this couple on SP up until statutory registration in 1855. Nae TV back them
That was searching 1820-1854
There is also a Banns record for 1825.

Re: John Brown
Hello Edd.nicol and welcome
It would help if you could tell us what you already know, so we don't spend time duplicating your efforts. Have you followed the family through the census records? Are you trying to trace his siblings, or go farther back in his ancestry?
All the best,
Sarah

Re: John Brown
And how far forward have you got with tracing the siblings? Are there any particular ones that you have been unable to trace?
Best wishes,
Sarah
