Hello Babbie,

That's odd-- on FamilySearch.org there is a birth record for such a person, right parents, born Lasswade, etc., but on 20 Feb 1793, not 1873!! Is that the one you meant? Finding a marriage in the early 19th century is quite different than finding one 100 years later, so we need to be clear on the time frame.

All the best,
Sarah

I tried to find her on the census with little success - but it would seem quite possible that they would be there until 1841. A search on SP for a death gives only one with both names but the age is about 10 years out from your isobel.

The OPR for the marriage may (only may) have the father's occupation - which may help determine if it is the right marriage.

I downloaded the marriage from Scot. Peo. it states that George was a manservant from London S6 and Isabella was a maidservant of King Street daughter of the

late Thomas Denholm. I am wondering if they perhaps headed south if he was from London. It does let me know that my 4 x great grandfather had died pre 1821

Thank you once again.
