A search on ScotlandsPeople indicates there is one marriage between John Kelly and Elizabeth (no surname entered) in 1942 in Ayr. As I currently have no valid credits, could not go further.

Hi Cathy,
As the marriage is less than 75 years ago, you won't be able to view the certificate online. All you will get online until 75 years has passed is the index entry, and the option to purchase an 'official' extract, which is a lot more expensive than the downloads which have passed their closure periods. If you want the details of that certificate, you either have to purchase the extract online, or make a visit to the ScotlandsPeople Centre in Edinburgh (or one of its outposts around Scotland) where you can view the certificate on-screen.
All the best,
AndrewP
