Hello there,
I´ve had so much help in the past, I thought I may try again for help. I´m trying to trace my family forward, to see if I can find any living members. The last male member of the family, I found in the 1911 census. His name was Andrew Graham Beaumont born 1904 in Glasgow. Father Hohn Beaumont, mother Jeanie Graham. They married in 1901. Would be most grateful for any help I can get.
Thank you in advance,
Eileen

Hi Eileen
Your search is getting close to the 100 year cut-off point for accessing records which is why we don't generally help this kind of search on-line since some of your ancestors and certainly their off=spring may well be still alive and kicking and prefer their details not to be posted on a public forum, however any member who has information which might help your search should feel free to contact you directly by PM so you can exchange info out of the limelight. I would suggest a visit to the Mitchell Library to check out valuation Rolls and GPO Directories but you didn't put in where you live.

Hi Eileen,
Scotlandspeople has a death record <after 1962> for an Andrew Graham Beaumont age 75 in Glasgow. You would either have to order the certificate or go to New Register House or the Mitchell Library to view it. Sometimes the death is registered by a family member........spouse/daughter/son. May give you an idea if he was married and had a family.

Hi Eileen and Ina,
For a few years now the DiGROS system has been in operation within Scotland. It's now possible to go into ANY Regisrty Office and order three forms of information right up to to last year!
If you're not sure of the date or places involved there is a search cost added. However, if you've got a good idea of Names, Dates and Places, three types of extract are available (they've always been available locally): Full Certificate (legally endorsed), Extract (a non-certified A4 sheet containing all the details) and Transcript (originally a hand written extract of the details but now usually an A4 printout of the digitized document [you need a magnifying glass] cut down to exclude the other two entries on the page).
The costs range from £5 - £13 (I think - I've not ordered a Full Certificate for years).
The majority of research I conduct for other people is "Secret" Birthday, Christmas or Anniversary presents for children, parents or spouses, as such, I rarely get to interview the recipients about their bloodlines, a couple of Fivers via DiGROS (and 3x magnification specs from the Pound Shop) usually kick-starts the process.

Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).
Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

Re: trying to trace family members as yet unknown.
It’s a strange system that has draconian restrictions on online access to BMD records yet allows unfettered access to any nut case, terrorist, blackmailer, or even worse, genealogist, who cares to wander into a Scottish registry office.
Not nearly as strange however as this <after 1962> business. Other genealogy forums seem to be interested only in whether the person is still living, not in their state of decomposition.
When the modern day indexes were released a new section of this forum was set up called ‘Modern Day Indexes’. It is not a public forum as it is only visible to members when logged on, and appears to be hidden from search engines. I rarely see it because I don’t logon until I’m ready to post something and then log straight out. The anonymous censor has been at work there as well. So, what is its purpose?
Hello Eileen,
Death notices in the Glasgow Herald in 1980 can be quite informative. To find other dates click on the ‘browse this newspaper’ link. http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=Q8 ... 1%2C157121
See also in the Evening Times. Pretty easy to find if you know an approximate date, or, if you are really keen, you could browse though the 300 or so issues of each. http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=Fg ... 0%2C186639
On the free name search at SP you can search for a full name and you’ll find there are only two events for Andrew G* Beaumont, presumably the birth and death previously mentioned, which means that he probably didn’t marry in Scotland, or anywhere else in the UK if FreeBMD is anything to go by.
All the best,
Alan

Re: trying to trace family members as yet unknown.
Hello everyone,
Just to thank you all for your help in looking for Andrew Graham Beaumont. I haven´t looked in for a couple of weeks, and am thrilled with all the info I can now work with.
You are all amazing, by the way I live in Germany, so cannot get to the Mitchell library, but I plan a trip over in Spring to do just that.
Thanks once again,
Eileen![Cheers [cheers]](./images/smilies/cheers.gif)
