2nd cousin

just found out my second cousin on my dads side[whom i have been searching for ages for] died in 1970 and was single worked as a boatsman in dunoon is there anyway i could find out what boat he worked on or any other info about him. regards catherine :?:

It seems that a Boatman would have needed to have a license to work in that field. Which organization in Scotland or elsewhere would have regulated waterways, ferries etc around Dunoon prior to 1970? Possibly it was the British Waterways Board. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Waterways

Dunoon seems to have been only a small place, perhaps if there was a local newspaper something about his death would have appeared in it. Maybe you could ‘Ask a Librarian’. http://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/forms/ask-librarian
