ATTN: MCINTOSH FAMILIES – Alexander McIntosh (Sandy) has triplets and leaves for New Zealand in 1840, does this ring bells for anyone from Scotland.

I am trying to gather information about Alexanders family in Scotland. All I have is that he was born in Perth 1799 (from his death certificate). So looking to follow his line for brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, etc.

In 1840 he left for New Zealand with wife Margaret McFarlane (of Findo Gask) and their 7 children.

Names of their children where, Mary (died aged 1 in Scotland), John, Henry, Christina, Lavinia, Margret, Mary Ann, John Alexander (Jock)
and Thomas. The triplets where 8 years old when they left. All their children survived the trip!

Margret (Alexanders wife) had her relatives onboard the ship, a Henry and Mary McFarlane.

A John McIntosh aged 24 and Mary McIntosh aged 20 where also onboard with them.

So thinking there were maybe 13 in the party that left to travel to NZ.

If this story rings a bell and you think they are related to your line of McIntosh’s I would love to hear from you.

Thanks Pat McIntosh
