William Rodger b. 1798 Bothwell - What Religion Was He ?

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone out there can help me with a question ?

I'm trying to find an ancestor of my hubby's, his 2 x great grandfather William Rodger b. 1798 in Bothwell, Lanarkshire to
William Rodger & Mary Rodger neè Rodger (according to his death cert on 1880). I've searched for his birth, any siblings, & his parents marriage without success. As I can't find anything regarding them I'm beginning to think they may not be Church of Scotland, and would like to know are there any other church records that are available to search through ? (I know they're not Catholic).

Any advice would be much appreciated.
