Hello and welcome to Talking Scot Joyce. :D

You can find the family easily enough on census records. Here they are in 1851 at Tannadice -

Charles Myles 37 born Kirriemuir, Ag Lab
Jean Myles 33 born Tannadice
James Myles 5 born Kirriemuir

You can view the original at http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

You can search for them in 1841 at http://www.freecen.org.uk/cgi/search.pl - looks like Charles is living with his siblings then.

You will also be able to view Jean/Jane and Charles' death entries there which should give you both sets of parents names. It looks like they both died between 1881 and 1891.

Let us know what you have and if there is anything specific you are looking for.

Regards,
Annette
