Looking for decendants of Alexander Will Petrie of Dundee...

Post by petries » Sun Oct 30, 2005 1:47 am

Hi from downunder,

I am trying to find any decendants of Alexander Will Petrie born 5th October 1885 at Mains Dundee. Alexander married a Catherine Tares at St. Clements Dundee on 14.1.1923. I do know that they had a pub in Forfar called the Volunteer Arms in Arbroath Road. Alexander's parents were David Gordon Petrie and Elizabeth Young married 11th October 1882.

Any help would be appreciated :roll:

Hullo Robyn

No definite answers for you, just one or two suggestions, if you haven't already tried them.

* Post a request on Forfar town message board

www.scottish-towns.co.uk/angus/forfar/

* Contact the Volunteer Arms
1 Arbroath Road, FORFAR, DD8 2HS

When I visited a Pub where ancestors had been managers from around 1880 into the early 1900s, I was amazed at the info gleaned about the family.

* Take a look and/or post on Genes United, where there is often up to the present day data.

Hope some of this helps.

Have a good day
Catriona
