missing McLaughlin.....

Post by erthomas » Wed Nov 02, 2005 5:46 pm

I am trying to find information on Agnes McLaughlin born about 1890. Family stories say that she was born in Antrim Ireland but I am starting to think that she was born in Scotland. She married Thomas Semple in Dalmuir on January 1, 1914 and her last know address before immigrating to the US in 1923 was also in Dalmuir. Her parents were John McLaughlin and Jane o'Boyle (marriage cert) I also know that she had 2 brothers who served in WWI, Mick (Michael) and Pat (Patrick). She and Thomas had 6 children, the 4 oldest were born in Scotland; James, Jeenie, Thomas, John (Jack). Any help in finding more information on Agnes or her family would be appreciated.

Hullo Erin

A ScotlandsPeople search for Agnes M*Claughlin aged 9 (I tried 8-13 to begin with) Dunbartonshire on the 1901 Census gives one hit, in Bonhill. Dalmuir and Bonhill would only be 10-15 miles apart.

If it is your Agnes, you will discover what is given as her Place of Birth, which should help in finding her Birth Cert.

Hope this helps.
