I have a donald macleod born abt 1774 at 17 knock married to margaret macaulay also of knock r&c
donald's father was murdo macleod married to margaret morison both of stornoway. Is it just possible someone may have any details of murdo and margaret. with thanks

How I would love to be able to help you in your search, especially as I know from experience how difficult it can be to sort out the numerous Murdo and Donald Macleods in Lewis. The only suggestion I can come up with is a web address

Must admit that I haven't used it myself yet. However I'm coming to the conclusion that it's the only way forward (should that be backward?) with my Macleod research.
