GLASGOW - OVEREND, SOMMERVILLE, DOUGLAS, LOVE
RENFREW - BLACK, DOUGLAS

DUNBARTON - LOVE, WALLACE
I am in New South Wales, Australia, any other listers from Aus?
Jen.

Hi Jennovo
...and a warm welcome to Talking Scot
There are quite a few listers from Aus on here - you are not alone!
I noticed you have Nimmo in your list from the Lothians. I have Nimmos in Leith, but pretty far back - mid 1700s, Margaret Nimmo, b.1758 who then married into the Goalen family.
best wishes
Lesley

Hi Jennovo,
Welcome
I would like to pick up on your Kirkwoods, do you know if they were blacksmiths?
Based in Dumbarton I might be able to help with your Love and Wallace, there are still a few families with that name still here.

Hi All,
Requesting some help!! Is this where I reply to individuals or should I reply personally to each?
KIRKWOOD - The only information I have at present (this is my 6th greatgrandmother) is for Elizabeth Kirkwood born abt. 1718 probably East Lothian married 1738 to Alexander Fairgrieve born abt. 1715. This is as far back as I have the line, and as you can see have scant information.
NIMMO - Catherine Nimmo christened 7th January 1810 (IGI Index) in Tranent, East Lothian. Married James Reid in Tranent 23rd July, 1810. and died in 1872.
Parents - Thomas Nimmo born abt. 1780 in Tranent, Haddington, who died between the census of 1841 and 1851. Married Joan Lascelles (born abt 1781 in Fife Pathead) in Tranent on the 25th May 1803.
I can only find three children to this marriage - Mary, Catherine and Joan.
Too much information?
Thank you for your warm welcome,
Jen.

Just continue as you are doing, by replying in the same thread where the posts were made.
At some point it might be an idea to open up a new subject/thread in another forum, but that's only really necessary when a long and complicated thread develops, and a TS Moderator is most likely to have intervened and made an appropriate suggestion before such a situation gets out of control

You can chose to reply to individuals in the way you prefer. A post, a pm or an e-mail where this is given on their profile. It usually depends on whether or not you want to limit the number of people having access to your information..
Happy searching

Hi Jen
The only Margaret i have was born Margaret Ann Rankin c1877 in Elgin and married Alexander Christie Mann. She died in Sydney.
There may well be a link somewhere in there as a lot of them migrated to New Zealand and Australia.
Oh well
Thanks
Tracey
