new member - family names.....

Hi there, i have just registered and thought i would post some family names and see if anyone out there has a connection.

the main names at the moment are

Chalmers - lanarkshire area mainly carluke and cambusnethan
Macleod - fauldhouse, whitburn area and earlier in time probably
sutherland
bell - ayrshire
gray - wick, caithness


so if anyone thinks they are connected let me know

Don't have links with your names, but do with your home town of Shotts, from 1800 to about 1855.

Hi KarenC,

A long shot but I have a William (John) Bell born 1857 in Kilbirnie, Ayr married Mary Napier in 1881 and Duncan Bell born 1859 in Kilbirnie, Ayr both sons of William and Ann Jane Bell (Lavery).

Any connection?

what are the christian names of your Chalmers?
i'm not sure about the areas you mention
but i do have Chalmers in my tree originated Mid-lothian but some ended up in Glasgow

I have Bell in my tree too - mostly from Greenock.
Adam/Aird/Bell/Beveridge/Clark/Davidson/Dunn/Millar/Morning/ McKinlay/McVake/McVickers/Pryde/Robertson..... and Smith!
