Hi Folks

Is anyone searching for Bowie / Sullivan / Pollock / Wood families in the Newmilns / Loudoun areas of Ayrshire? I have fairly extensive info on lots of them including OPR / BMD's / cenus (UK and US) photos and lots more. They are not direct lines of mine but I have researched them fairly extensively to get clues on some of my lot who married into them at one time. I have info from 1746 up to 1960's.

I am happy to share the lot with anyone researching them.

Ted,

Did any of your Bowies settle in Glasgow? I have a Robert Walker Bowie born about 1849 Glasgow, father William, mother Jessie Armour. I don't know where Robert's parents originated, but I have seen a lot of Bowies and Armours in my Ayrshire searches.

Robert Bowie married Margaret Allison in 1868, Glasgow, and had four children that I know of.

Any bells ringing?

The only Bowie I have is a Jessie Bowie, who married a Samuel Wotton. No dates unfortunately, but Sam was born in 1922 in Glasgow and worked as a male nurse; he died in 1990.

Sorry but none of those names in anything I have - by and large the Bowie ones I have all went to the US before 1920 - the line by then mostly female and the name deminishing as they married. Most of the earlier Bowies I have stayed around the Newmilns / Kilmarnock area. Sorry to disappoint.
