Christopher Jobson.....

Trying to find Christopher Jobson who I have in 1841 census in Stromness.
He is down as being age 55 so it is possible that he died before 1851 census as he's not in that one. Or he's moved away again. He was in the Royal Navy and also in coastguard. His three sons were born in Angus and he is in Arbroath in 1828. Christopher was born in England as was his wife,Elizabeth Wilson who I've been unable to find either.
Have briefly tried the english records without much success.

No immediate ideas spring to mind exept maybe trying to track down a monumental inscription. Last known sighting was Orkney so maybe try

Sorry I can't offer anything more precise, but he looks like he is going to be a difficult man to pin down!

Thanks for your suggestions - I'm afraid I've tried all three links - I have the MI's for Stromness(last known location)and I can't find him there but I'll keep trying. He's not going to beat me!!
