Elizabeth Stenhouse married William Burns in the Parish Church of South Leith on November 9th 1849. On her marriage certificate her M/S is recorded as Stenhouse and she is said to be the daughter of James Stenhouse of Airdrie and Margaret Crichton. I cannot find her birth registration. On the 1861 census she said that she was born in Collinton. On her son's second marriage certificate and death certificate it mentions that she was also known as Leckie, the only times that it is mentioned. I have not been able to find the registration of her son, John Burns (born abt 1850) and wonder if he might have been born before she married William Burns. Could his birth name have been Leckie?
I had some really useful help from this forum in the past and wondered if anyone might be able to help me with this as well.

there are two Elizabeth STENHOUSE/BURNS which might be worth a look, although one is too young to be your Elizabeth. The other died in 1888 at 62 years old. Both parents names will normally be mentionned on the Death Certificate Extract.
