census cd.....

Post by thomsos » Sun Mar 12, 2006 6:57 pm

Can anyone tell me if I can purchase a CD with all the census for Scotland, and if it would be worth while buying them

Hello thomsos

The 1881 census cd set is very affordable and covers all of Scotland (and comes with England too). I highly recommend it. Portions of Scotland in other census years are available on cd sets and if you have a concentration of research in that particular area I too would think it could be a good investment..... say nothing about the better research parameters they usually offer!! There are a few members on here that can tell you more from first hand experience. So far I've only purchased the 1881....but have seriously toyed with expanding the collection!!

Best wishes
Jean

I don't know where your located but I bought the 1881 through the Family search site LDS it you go there and go to order/downloads products you will find them under software and databases. It took about a week if I remember correctly and I use them often.I have both the 1881 census package for UK and the vital records.

David was mentioning the 1881 earlier today - and my personal view is that they're a great buy!
