looking for any imformation about alexanedr milne born about 1865 in scotland he was my great grandad i think he had a brother james milne born in scotland about 1872.
I have just started to tace my family history and have only used this site since a few days ago.
both of my mams parents seem to have been born in scotland,the help i have been given on previous posts has been excellent.
just would like to say a big thanks to all from me in geordie land.

Hiya Watty!

You could spend days wandering around looking for the right Alexander and still never be sure. The IGI spits out about 20 just in 1865.

Here's hoping you happen to know the name of his wife.....and even better a list of their children??? A little more info will make the search somewhat easier......

he marriedi think a maggie she was born in 1872 in newcastle thats all i got more than likely be stuck again.

if i have the right imfo i think they married in newcastle they had mary milne born 1899 fredrick milne born 1891 then i would imagine my grandma margaret milne born in 1901 gateshead area i think.
