Hi Ellen
..and a warm welcome to Talking Scot :D

Have you had a look on the Family Search www.familysearch.org or Scotlands People www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk sites yet?
Maybe a search for the marriage of Robert Anderson & Margaret Mclaughlan at Scotlands People would be the best thing to do first, as then you should find out their parent's names from the marriage entry, and their ages. From there you should be able to find their births. Also maybe worth trying the 1901 census if they married before 1901.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Ellen and Welcome!

If you want to jump right into things then just search for the death of Andrews mom first. You'll find her....and her middle name....and the names of her parents....and the informant was a married daughter....Greenock East...1927....

Best wishes
Jean

There is one Andrew Anderson born 1904-5 in Renfrewshire, and 11 in Lanarkshire 1904-5 on Scotland's People.

There are two couples called Andrew Anderson & Elizabeth Smith married between 1926-1930, on Scotland's People, one couple in Renfrewshire, one couple in Midlothian.

Hope you find the ones you are looking for.
Best wishes
Lesley
