Hi qbeebill
Just trying to place your Catherine - this looks like it may be her in 1881:
  • Dwelling: Dundyvan Rd Browns Land
Census Place: Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland
Source: FHL Film 0203699 GRO Ref Volume 652-2 EnumDist 3 Page 30

    John MC ILROY M 43 M Ireland
    Rel: Head
    Occ: Ironwork Labr
Mary Ann MC ILROY M 50 F Ireland
    Rel: Wife
John CARLIN (MC ILROY) U 24 M Coatbridge, Lanark, Scotland
    Rel: Stepson
    Occ: Ironworker Roller
Catherine CARLIN (MC ILROY) U 17 F Coatbridge, Lanark, Scotland
    Rel: Step Daur
John AITCHESON U 25 M Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland
    Rel: Boarder
    Occ: Ironworker Labr
Edward FINNIGAN U 24 M Coatbridge, Lanark, Scotland
    Rel: Boarder
    Occ: Ironworker Labr
William MC GRORTY 10 M Coatbridge, Lanark, Scotland
    Rel: Boarder
    Occ: Scholar
There is another Catherine born 1864, Glasgow & whose mother is also a Mary, but the Coatbridge connection with this one looked more likely. Is this your one?
Best wishes
Lesley

Have you found her on any census records after her marriage?

Or did they have any children?

Looking for her Husband's death may also help narrow down a time scale [if she was noted as alive at his date of death]

Of course being born in 1864 - she may well have been alive after 1955, when the online deaths stop on SP . she'd 'only' be 91 then!

Yes I did too. and no sign of her. She could have been still alive in 1955 ? when Scottish death records are currently availabe too. So I have puy a call out to see if I can locate any of her desendrnts who may still live in Coatbridge.??. Hears hoping . I also searched for Devlin,Carlin or McIlroy
but stll no luck. Heres hoping that my search for desendants may work. Thanks for your help. Bill Kerr

Dear Nina,
I am still looking, I found Patrick Devlin's marriage certifiacate, to my Bridget Watters. He was the son of Alexander /Catherine's.)
Alexander was dead when they married , however Catherine was still alive. in 1919. She had remarried and was called Catherine Hughes.Prievously Devlin. Her M.S. was down as Carroll ?. could this just be a mistake for Carlin ????.
I tryed to see if I could find her death under "Hughes" but no luck.
Any other ideas. Thanks Bill
