Hi,
Seeking the deaths of William and Isabella Gourdie nee Murray in the Perthshire area there last son Robert Gourdie born 1820 in Abernethy was my 3x greatgrandfather.

Do you know if William and/or Isabella survived till after 1855? Have you seen them in any census data as still alive at a certain date? Do you think they stayed in the Abernethy area after the birth of son Robert?

There are published Monumental Inscriptions for the Abernethy area: "Perthshire MI - Perthshire South (Lower Strathearn). Vol.1. Pre-1855" available here:

which would be worth checking, (it can be seen at Edinburgh Public Library) but they may not be listed if there was no grave stone, or the stone has not survived.

Sorry, lots of questions, but just trying to find out what you already know about them.
