Hi there

Looks like the Head of Household messed things up on the Household Schedule and/or the enumerator made a mess of the transcription from the Schedule into the Enumeration Book.

Wee Agnes' birth is there in Tinwald in 1900 but not under the surname AFFLECK. Try one of the other surnames in the 1901 household on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk .

Possibly the same in relation to Margaret in Tinwald.

As for Lewellyn, no trace that I can see.... the next option is to look at the indexes at the end of the fiches for births for Holywood for 1894 +/- 1 year. Unfortunately it's not possible to search on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk by given name alone.

Hi baldy

Your family is hard to find!! :? I've looked everywhere and they seem to be missing from the 1881 census  . If you locate the DC of James Sr though which isn't too hard to do if you do the math.....then you'll find he was married twice. There are two births to him and his second wife on the IGI. Then find him on the 1891 census and you'll see wee Margaret in the household.....and really only one conclusion of who her mom is. I'm still scratching my head over Lewellyn. Wonder if he was another child of her's??? Hmmmmmmm.....he certainly isn't giving himself up easily and I'm not finding any other daughters.....

Best wishes
Jean

See http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic. ... es+beattie for possible problems in 1881.
