I am a Morrison and I have traced my family back to 1735 in Gamrie Banffshire but now have hit a brick wall and unsure of where my family came from before then. Some say Black Isles some say Lewis but as of yet I have not been able to trace back from James Morrison b 1735/6 in Gamrie.

Hi Sue

We're working on my McKenzie line just now but have hit the usual brick wall discovering they were probably from North Uist originally rather than Lewis.
Decided to call in the professionals finally so we're waiting for their results just now.
We have Henrietta McKenzie b ~1851 daughter of Alexander McKenzie and Marion MacAulay

Russell
Working on: Oman, Brock, Miller/Millar, in Caithness.
Roan/Rowan, Hastings, Sharp, Lapraik in Ayr & Kirkcudbrightshire.
Johnston, Reside, Lyle all over the place !
McGilvray(spelt 26 different ways)
Watson, Morton, Anderson, Tawse, in Kilrenny

I have Macdonald, Murray, Campbell and Macleod++++++++, but mostly from Upper and Lower Shader, Upper and Lower Barvas, in Barvas Parish.

This is very sketchy at the moment but I do have Catherine Macleod bn abt 1829 at Knockaird Isle of Lewis married Donald Campbell he was bn abt 1829 they had a daughter called Gormilia she was born 1849 father to Catherine is John so not a lot of help really at the moment.
