Hi maceill:

On ScotlandsPeople census for 1881 gives 2 females between ages 7 and 9 for all districts.

For the 1891 census, it gives 7 females in all districts and only 3 in Glasgow, who were between 17 and 19. At that age, Margaret would likely be working and perhaps was living away in service.

The IGI lists Margaret as being born 07 Dec 1873 to Peter Boyle and Bridget Curran - High Church Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. Extracted Batch C119181 1855-1874. Source 6035516 Register Film.

I searched for a marriage of Margaret Boyle, 1891 +/- 10 and located a marriage of Margaret Boyle, born about 1873 ... Scotland to Michael Cadden on 9 April 1898, Coatbridge. A copy of this marriage registration from Scotlandspeople will give you the bride's and groom's parents and cofirm if this the correct Margaret Boyle.

An additional search provided DOB for Michael as 11 Jun 1873. Parents William Cadden & Catherine McAvoy, Batch C116521 1855-1874 Source 6035516

ScotlandsPeople lists one Michael Cadden aged 25-30 in the 1901 census, no Margaret Cadden, but 14 Margaret Boyles (she may not have taken his name - not uncommon.

Hope this leads you to something useful.

Hi maceill
You don't say if you have any record of Margaret after 1873....
Would it be possible that she died before the census? :-k

For instance there is a death record in 1874 for a Margaret Boyle age 0 year (that could fit because your Margaret was born December 1873)
Registered in Glasgow High Church (where Frances says that Margaret was born)

Jim
researching
McIntyre, Menzies, Cowley, Pearson, Copland, McCammond, Forbes, Edgar etc. in Scotland
Skinner in Northumberland

Send a Personal Message to Ina. She's related to this lot, it's years since I looked into this family but I'm fairly sure Ina has all the info you'll need.
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.
