This is a very long shot but I'm looking for a Robert Black born in Donegal around 1920's. He moved to Scotland in 1943. Dont know anything after this.

Hi donegalannie
...and a warm welcome to Talking Scot
Thats a tough one you've started with!! I'm not at all sure how you would go about this one; looking at sites like http://www.b4usearch.com/ for electoral roll/phone info is not really going to help with that name I don't think - there will be far too many of them, and you would need to have an idea of the area where he was likely to be found. Trying to think of anything else - do you have an occupation, any idea where in Scotland he was heading?
My only thought so far is that if you were able to spend some time in NRH in Edinburgh looking for a marriage from 1943 onwards and then deaths...but that would take a while
- and that assumes that you would recognise the parents' names and that he remained in Scotland, which may not be the case, and then of course, he might not have married at all and may still be living....
I'm sorry I can't offer any better suggestions.
Best wishes
Lesley
