Could it be Newfield?
The 1860 map at www.old-maps.co.uk show Newfield House just north-east of Dundonald. Input Dundonald in the searchbox. Select Dundonald, Ayrshire from the choice. Zoom out to scale "5". Northfield comes into view near the top right corner. Click on it for the map to re-centre on that point. Now change the scale to 3 or 1 to make it more legible.
See also link to Dundonald and Newfield for a current map.
All the best,

Hi Sarah
I was talking to a friend who lives in Dundonald and she informed me that Newfield House no longer exists. It was knocked down and a few house have been built there. However the farm Newfield Mains is still there. My friend's father was the Factor for Newfield House some years ago and her friend's father was the gardiner there. If you want I will try to find out some information on the house and send it to you. Let me know.
Regards

Hi Heather Any background is of interest as I am finding that it is very hard to put flesh on the bones especially so far back. My main concern would be that this is not the same place so would not like you or your friend to go to loads of trouble on my behalf. The only info I have is in my first post above.
Many thanks
Sarah

Kenneth Dundonald
Hi Sarah
My neighbour has a book on old houses in Ayrshire and I will ask her if I can look at it to see if the house is listed in it. My grandparents bought a cottage in Dundonald when my grandfather retired so I spent all my school holidays there. Dundonald is just a small village in Ayrshire and there are still a few large houses inthe vicinity still standing. Irvine is a town just a few miles from Dundonald and in fact that is where I work. My friend was born and brought up in Dundonald so she should know if there were any other houses with a similar name in the area.
I will let you know if I come up with anything.

Crawfurds of Newfield
Hi, I know this thread is a bit old, but can anyone help me with what happened to the family of Crawfurd who lived at Newfield in the mid- 19th Century? The last one I can find is a Major Robert Crawfurd who inherited the estate after his father's death in 1843. Did the Crawfurds go on living there or did they sell the house? If nyone has any clues I would be most grateful. Raymond (Crawfurd)

hi Raymond
...and a warm welcome to Talking Scot.
I hope someone with knowledge of that area may be able to help you with your query.
There is an inventory on ScotlandsPeople which looks like it is probably linked to the death you refer to in 1843:
Crawfurd Robert 30/05/1843 Lieutenant Colonel of Ayrshire Cavalry, of Newfield Inventory Ayr Sheriff Court Inventories SC6/44/12
Best wishes
