Hi Tracy

Welcome to TS..........
unfortunatly due to the Scottish Laws i am unable to get information on him as now, but that sort of stops me getting information on his parentage.
Is Francis still alive ? if not you can obtain a death certificate less than 50 years or after SP stop from http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/famrec/bdm.html which will give you parents info.
Maybe a silly question but how do you know his fathers name and not his mothers ?
And lastly a search on SP only gives 10 marriages of an Alexander Wyllie between the years 1918-30 :D which is hopefull and if you know the area even better for a start..........

Hi Tracy, I know his farthers name as it is on the marriage certificate. The electrol role for 2004 says he was still alive but when i contacted the address they said he no longer lived there and had not been there for years. Your guess is as good as mine there. He is my grandfarther but i only met him once as my granparents got devorced after only a few years of marriage, i know he married again. other than that i have limited knowledge. unfortunatly my nan died before i started the family tree and i was too young to think ahead. So now i am at a bit of a loss.
I will take your advise and check oout SP for the Alexanders. Thanks Again

Hi Tracey,
Yes misstyped it but have searched for the correct spelling which is wyllie. My nan married again to another man whose surname was wylie with 1 l not 2. I use family tree maker and just uploaded it onto genes reunited. I also have access to ancestry.co.uk and have used 1837. but these are only any good if you have a more details to narrow it down.
Thanks for helping
