I am looking for any living Roses in the New Pitsligo area. I can trace back to my GG grandfather Thomas Rose born in 1830 Married to Ann Leel. They lived in Tyrie for about 6 years and then moved back to new Pitsligo. I no for a fact that only 1 of their children came to America. That was William. He married Ann Bruce of Gamrie and they settled in Becket Massachusetts. Both William and Ann are buried in Chester Massachusetts.
But this leaves at least 4 children that stayed in Scotland. there have to be a lot of cousins around the area. Well you have a few remaining cousins still in Western Massachusetts.

Hi there seakev
You can do a great deal of the searching for yourself right online at ScotlandsPeople if you haven't already.
From the IGI you know:
1. CHRISTINA ROSE - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 24 MAR 1860 New Pitsligo, Aberdeen, Scotland
2. WILLIAM ROSE - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 02 FEB 1858 Tyrie, Aberdeen, Scotland
3. ANN ROSE - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 26 MAR 1856 Tyrie, Aberdeen, Scotland
4. GEORGE ROSE - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 31 OCT 1852 Tyrie, Aberdeen, Scotland
I know from the 1861 census the whole family is right there in New Pitsligo. If you trace each child forward into marriage you might even find some births to this next generation. Because the online records prevent us from finding any births newer than 1905 you would have to resort to other means to jump to present day records. Either hire a researcher.....or get lucky and ask for a lookup at New Register House.....or even possibly try consulting the online phone directory and send off some snail mail. Of course someone might just happen along on our forum.....but if I were you I'd seek additional means of making a contact.
Best wishes
Jean

thank you Lesley and Jean.!!
I was in fact looking for a Phone Directory for Aberdeen and surroundings. B4U...should help me there. You said there were a few Roses in Peterhead....That makes sense...My Great uncle and aunt were married in Peterhead...How did you find that info?
Jean...I will search forward. My best bet is 1 uncle George. My three aunts seemed to have passed away in their early years 19 & 33. of what I do not know. Thank you for the suggestion. Scotlands People is a great web site. I had a mairrage certificate mailed to me from them.
Thanks again to both of you
