Christina McArthur.....

Post by maggie » Sun Jun 18, 2006 12:04 pm

Hello
can anyone please help me find any children of
John McArthur & Mary ANN MAC/Mc DONALD
i have found a marriage for John & MAry in West or Old Greenock Renfrew in 1828 (may 27th).
I am looking for a Christina who was born around 1829 going by her DC in Australia . so was wanting to find siblings etc going by her Dc she must have left scotland around 1854?But can't seem to see any possible matches for her in the 1841 census.
John's occupation is recorded as a tailor on her DC and gives her birth place as Gourock .
any help or pointers where to look much appreciated
kind regards maggie

Hello Maggie,

Did you check the 15 year old Christina McArthur living in Greenock in 1841 in case her age is a bit out?

Kind regards,

I'm really sorry Maggie, I hate giving misinformation when it costs someone else money.

Hello Annette
no apologies are neccessary but how very thoughfull of you
i have known of Christina for a while now ,but never tried to follow her up as she was only the wife of a distant ancestor ,but i have made contact with a direct decendant of her thanks to a posting i read the other day on TS about ancestry world trees i had never looked at them ,and the very first surname i took a look at was Yuill and saw almost straight away info that meant something to me John Yuill & Christina McArthur Australia.so after making contact i have the death cert for Christina and i have been able to supply my newly found whatever cousin with her 3xgreat grandfathers death certificate.Plus a wealth of other information in no small part thanks to the help i have had on this site from it's wonderfull members though mainly from the wonderfull JACK ,so i thought i would try to investigate Christina a bit more ,and when i failed i shouted for help ,and you where kind enough to respond ,so thanks once again
kind regards maggie
