can someone tell me if there is anyway to find out if someone has moved out of the district or even out of the country

more or less anytime after 1870
one example is I have a family born Polmont 1873 with a death recorded Glasgow 1938, so I find it quite difficult trying to find them on the later census's. and I am sure I have at least one ancestor who emigatred
