Not such a bizarre thought when you consider the far-reaching influences Scotland's sons and daughters have made throughout the entire planet.
On holiday in Turkey some years ago I was "accosted" in the nicest way, by what seemed to be a typical Turk, only to discover that he had a Scottish GGG Grandfather and had even visited the village on Islay where that ancestor was born.
We, as a nation, have a great deal to be proud of, and the world is seriously populated with descendants of our wonderful ancestors.
