We're a' Jock Tamson's bairns and can prove it! .....

Hi everyone

I have just had a bizarre thought!
What will we do with the Scottish People board if we ever get to the stage where we can prove that everyone is related to everyone else

Links and bonds are developing fast and furious on this board and others.
We must be the most resaearched country in the world now !

Ponder it.

Not such a bizarre thought when you consider the far-reaching influences Scotland's sons and daughters have made throughout the entire planet.

On holiday in Turkey some years ago I was "accosted" in the nicest way, by what seemed to be a typical Turk, only to discover that he had a Scottish GGG Grandfather and had even visited the village on Islay where that ancestor was born.

We, as a nation, have a great deal to be proud of, and the world is seriously populated with descendants of our wonderful ancestors.

McDonald or MacDonald (some couldn't make up their mind!), Bonner, Crichton, McKillop, Campbell, Cameron, Gitrig (+other spellings), Clark, Sloan, Stewart, McCutcheon, Ireland (the surname)

When I was "moaning" about my elusive ancestors & trying to find their various connections my niece just said "Does it matter(WELL YES IT STILL DOES TO ME!!) we all go back to our first common ancestors anyway"
As one who believes that is Father Adam & Mother Eve but I am of the Jock Tamson's branch-the one who turned north.
