Need help again. This time I am looking for Rose Ann Gallagher my gggrannie the 1st I heard of her is when she gave birth to Matthew my ggranda in 1895 this I got off his birth certificate. He was illegimate so no date of marriage. Rose Ann herself got married some time between 1895 -1920, thats when Matthew got married himself. Rose Ann married Patrick Docherty if possible I would like her date of birth and her date of marriage.

Matthew was born at 159 Whifflet Street, Coatbridge and married in Mossend,Bellshill.

A Roseann Gallagher married a Peter Docherty in Bonhill Dumbarton in 1906. Think this might be a possibility for your marriage?

Have you had a look at any of the Census on Scotland's People?

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

The ages they give, even though approximative can be helpful in narrowing down the search for a birth.

I haven't found anything conclusive but wonder if it might be worth your while to have a look at the following Census entries: .
1891 Coatbridge
652/02 014/02 024 There is a 30 year old Matthew Gallagher and a 27 year old Rosabella Gallagher in the same household.
1901 Coatbridge
652/02 004/02 015 Rose Gallagher aged 28
1901 Bellshill
625/03 006/03 001 Matthew Gallaher (note spelling) 26 years.

Rose Ann and variants, especially in the West of Scotland, can often be the transliteration of the Irish Gaelic Róisín ......... so that wildcards are advisable
