I'M BACK.....

Post by trishtrash » Fri Jul 07, 2006 6:03 pm

Since you lovely people helped me with these rellies once before I thought I would be cheeky and ask for a little more assistance!! PLEASE?
:D
My G Grandmother Agnes McKenzie (nee Ballantyne) is recorded on the 1881 Scottish Census in Scott Street with her 2 children. Then we lost her and were trying to discover if indeed she did emigrate to the US.
:?
After trawling through all kinds of lists I think a lady on B G Forums may have found her. However she travelled much later than I expected so where was she between 1881 and 1895? It is possible that she was working as a servant and it is this family that she went to the States with.
:?:
Does any one have access to the 1891 Scottish Census. If so would you please try to find Agnes McKENZIE born 1856, Glasgow. She should be registered as a widow. :)
Surname interest: McKenzie, Ballantyne in Lanarkshire. Wh(y)ite in Blantyre. McPherson. McNaught.

Hi trishtrash
You can find the 1891 census on the Scotlands People site (link at top of page). It is a pay-per-view site but you can search for free to see if there is any likely record before you have to stump up!
There are six Agnes M*ckenzies between the ages of 33-40 in LAnarkshire in 1891. Don't have enough credits to to look at the details.

Best wishes
Lesley
