WILLIAM BELL.....

Post by subell » Mon Jul 10, 2006 7:41 pm

I AM TRYING TO FIND WILLIAM BELL BORN ABOUT 1915 -1918. HIS FATHER WAS THOMAS BELL. THE WILLIAM I AM TRYING TO FIND CAME DOWN TO LONDON FROM SCOTLAND ABOUT 1938 HE WAS WORKING AS A PORTER IN THE KING'S CROSS AREA OF LONDON. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO MAY BE ABLE TO HELP ME WITH MY SEARCH. [/b]

Hi Sue & Welcome to Talking Scot.As your search is so recent it may be difficult to find a connection.
Do you have any idea of what area in Scotland he was born/lived in?
You may find his Father on http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk-perhaps the 1901 Census or his death.
Was he a railway porter? I don't know but perhaps there are employee records from the Train Company that employed him.Would he have served in WW2? Try CWGC in case he did & didn't survive.
These are only a few ideas of the top of my head but do get back if we can help further& you never know somebody might know him.
