marriages in Paisley.....

Post by margrace » Wed Jul 19, 2006 4:57 pm

My grandmother and grandfather were married in Paisley in St. Georges Church Paisley on the 18 of Aug. 1902.

How can I find out if my grandmother's sisters were married there also.

Thanks

The only method I know is to search on Scotland's People, visit NRH & search in person or employ a researcher to look for you.
If you go to SP & you know the names of your Grandparents siblings then search under their names, putting in district where the Church is located & unless their names are very common then you should be able to match & tell where they married. To be certain you would need to purchase credits & look at the actual entry.
If it was earlier marriages you were looking for you could check the IGI at http://www.familysearch.org/Eng or http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com ... /index.htm which is very usefaul when you know the actual Parish you are looking for.Just look up the county, then the parish then the dates you are looking for then the name/names & hopefully you will get a match but they only go up to about 1890 ish.
