George McGill/Ann Flanagan.....

Greetings all:

posting for a friend, She is researching George McGill/Ann Flanagan

"I have searched Scotland's People many times for the death of My gggrandparents. George Mc Gill and Ann Flanagan. They were alive in 1881 and living in Old Monkland, but where they went after that I cannot find. They were both born Ireland and came to Scotland in the early 1830,s. Have all their children's birth, marriage and deaths. Have to be somewhere unless they went back to Ireland but I find that unlikely as all their children were in Scotland. Born approx 1818 and 1821 but who knows really as they are different ages in all the censuses that I have them in..."

Any help would be appreciated

I don't know how much help this will be ,but I was searching for
McGill in Scotland recently without success until I happened across
entries for MAGILL and MADILL and I found them !!!!!!!!!!
They were born in Ireland too.

Worth a try.

Hi delmarco

Was carrying out some research for a friend who was very sure of her ancestry - Fleming from Inverness, turns out they were Flanagins from Dundee. Strangely enough the daughter got married in the Monklands area - and we can not figure out why. Will ask her to review the information we found out and get back to you.
