CARRICK/Peebleshire/Lanarkshire.....
Tracing my husbands ancestry, Carricks of Lamington, Culter, Wiston - Lanarkshire. Carricks, Kilbucho, and other areas of Peebleshire, dating back to the early 1700's. Trying to establish when they came to the above areas, especially Alexander Carrick who married Ann Lithgow in 1701. and Alexander Carrick who married Grizel Tweedie, 1738 both at Culter. He may have originally come from Ayrshire or Kippen/Stirlingshire. It has been said the Carricks came originally to area as servants to Lord Lamington, but that may well be a myth??? Any connections or help appreciated, especially anyone with access to early monumental iscriptions for Kippen.
Researching - McMorran, Stark, Sanderson, Crawford, Somerville, Cleghorn, Lanarkshire.
Marshall, Laird, Lang, Morton, Renfrewshire.
Craig- Stonehouse. Wilson, Bennet, Linn.

Hi Karen,
Nice to hear from you again, hope things are ok with you. I have been working a bit on my own lines recently but thought I should get back to my husbands again and have another go with fresh eyes, starting with the two main lines first and then get back to the spouses lines. How are your Chalmers lines coming on? The info. you sent me with regard to that line has been invaluable, and my husbands family were amazed about the musical connection. Good Luck with all your future searches.

Hi Grace,
Glad your getting on ok with your research. My Chalmers lines are coming on ok but as usual there are always some ancestors who dont want to be found
As for the musical connection that you were talking about i have some excerpts frm the wishaw press newspaper which im not sure if i told you about. If i didnt let me know and i can scan them in and email them to you. Every little bit adds to the puzzle

Hi Karen,
Could you please email me those transcripts, because I had my pc upgraded and lost all my emails which were in folders, so I don't have a copy of that, although I still have the file on the Chalmers tree you sent on. I also have more data on the Carricks if you want that for your records, let me know.
