Which Parish.....

Hi

I need to track down acestors from Kilnarnock can anyone tell me which parish that would come under in 1841 please.

Kilmarnock probably.

for more details. These maps all have coloured parishes.

Or possibly the parish often confused with Kilmarnock (Ayrshire), - Kilmaronock in Dunbartonshire..............

While I'd be happy to take the credit for that website, it belongs to the (Digital Library of the) National Library for Scotland. It is not mine, I just direct people to it as I think it is a great website for old maps (and probably a lot more).

The series of maps with the coloured parishes is great for most of Scotland. For some reason, they do not cover Banffshire (most of), Moray, Nairnshire, Ross & Cromarty (apart from Lewis), Sutherland and Caithness.
