Re; Sheddens from Beith " In the last post section"

Hello
Regarding the Sheddens from Beith
As this was in the last post section I just read it by chance
I also have a Shedden from Beith
My Great Grandfather Alexander Paterson was born in Beith 1863 as Alexander Shedden mother Margaret Shedden however on his death cert it states Alexander Paterson (formerly Shedden) widower of Catherine Payne. his parents given as Alexander Paterson and Margaret Shedden and says afterwards married to John Walker .
My Great Grandfather died in New Cumnock.
Sorry I can't add anymore to the Sheddens line at the moment as haven't done any research on them but it looks like the Sheddens and Walkers had a link.

Hi Rita

Beith is only about 4 miles from where I come from (although it could be a world away!). I played golf years ago with a lady called Shedden from Beith, so I'm sure there will still be lots in the area. People seem to stick to the area quite well.
