how would i be able to find the names of my grandparents i know nothing about them.
my mother was born in scotland in 1923 married in birmingham in 1946.
it did say on the marriage cert one of the witness was a <edited as possibly refers to a living person> and my mothers name was elizabeth so i am not sure if he was my grandad or my uncle.
need some help please.....

To find the 1923 birth you would either need to go to to New Register House in Edinburgh or Park Circus in Glasgow yourself, find someone who could go on your behalf, or contact GROS directly:

The birth certificate will give you the names of both parents (your grandparents).
