Sorry I'm new to this game but I apologise if I've jumped the gun or are going the wrong way about things !! Trying to find info on when John and Jessie Paterson emigrated from Scotland to Australia. The info I have at the moment is that Jessie was born Jessie Stark in East Calder in 1886 and married John Paterson in 1908. They had a son William born in 1908 and they emigrated in 1924. John was a painter and decorator and was a great hand in woodworking and was employed for some project in Australia. Is there an easy way of getting in touch with any descendants as Jessie was my grandmother's sister.

Hi Quicksilver,
Welcome to TalkingScot and no need to apologise.
You'll need to begin with searching the Statutory records, for the birth and marriage of John & Jessie. Scotlandspeople is where you'll be able to search for these records. It's a pay per view site, which is very reasonable. There's a link for Scotlandpeople located at the top of the page. You'll need to register as a member and a credit card is required.
