Re Foley - Kilbowie Rd, Clydebank
Hi Ruth,
Because we are into "modern day" folk - ie 1940+, maybe try contacting the Clydebank Post?

Letters Page,
Clydebank Post,

Clydebank G81 1UG,
West Dunbartonshire,
Scotland

There is also an e-mail address. A click on the Editorial link gives -
editorial.cb@cfpress.co.uk

Even though over 65yrs have passed, a local reader may recognise the family names.
No harm in asking!

Hi Lesley,
Yes, Scotslandpeople is where I found their deaths. Margaret Foley nee Doherty born c1882 Ireland Father William, farmer Mother Margaret nee McLaughlin.
Thomas Patrick Foley born c1885, Father Patrick, monumental sculptor, Mother Mary nee Brett.
Could not find a marriage in Scotland for them so possibly married in Ireland. Could not find a birth for their son William James so he was either born in Ireland or after 1905. I did find 1 possible 1901 census ages fit but wife is Ellen, Patrick may have remarried. All born Ireland.
After Margaret died in 1918 Thomas remarried an Annie O'Neill. Again I could not find a marriage in Scotland & think he remarried in Ireland.
I tried this family because at least I had 2 addresses & had hoped something might happen. I will put a request in the paper & see if anything happens.
Thanks for your interest.
Happy New Year
Regards
Ruth

Well just by pure luck I went to your Belfast 1911 Census link & found the family living in Shankill in 1911. It has given me a lot of info I didn't have before, some very surprising.
What a great end to 2006
I have sent off some info to the Clydebank Post & hopefully they will put it in the paper & I may get a reply.
Thanks everyone for your help so far.
