French name from Scotland to Guyana.....

Post by donna petrie » Thu Feb 22, 2007 12:30 am

HI: This is a query for a friend. Has anyone ever come across a surname D'Amil or D'amile, or another variation in Scotland. A friend of mine says her mother's people are from Scotland ( later moved to Guyana) but this was her last name. I check SP all records BMD, OPR and Statutory with no success. Any takers? Donna

Hi

When I was a child I knew someone whose surname was Amabile. Don't know if that is any help to you.

At a push, there is a 1910 Lanarkshire marriage for a De Mille or Demille.

Thank you both. I will forward the names to my friend and perhaps with a little more digging one of them might be a better fit. Donna
