Only a slight change of subject :!:

If Mary Russell was part of 'Our Russell" family, and if James and Susan were first cousins, would they have gone to Carlisle to marry, because it wasn't legal for them to marry in Scotland :?:

I ask this, because if it were the case, it would go a long way toward explaining why the big family rift, where one of the family names had never been mentioned.
