Newbie needing help

Post by italian scot » Wed Apr 18, 2007 4:45 pm

Hi every one as you can see i am new to the site. what i want to know is we have /had family that was in scotland round about 1920's-1930's . We know that for some reson the family split up and the father came to manchester, but dont know what happend to the rest of the family or how many there were? All we have to go on is the fathers name and on death notice/certif. what we would like to know if possible is what was his wife name , how many children they had and is it possible to find any pictures of them and the house they lived in. lol i don't ask much do i . we think that it should be west richmond street?
The fathers name was NICOLA BELLAMACINA. they lived at 26 w.richmond street Edinburgh. There son that died was called FRANCISCO BELLAMACINA he died 1914 age 5. If there is any more infomation you need please ask and i will try and find out.
Also on this site can you post images or pictures to a post or reply?

MIGKY

Hi MIGKY,

A warm welcome to Talking Scot [scotland-flag]

The Scotland's People site should have FRANCISCO's death certificate. Also, if Nicola married in Scotland the marriage certificate should be available as well.

Images can be uploaded to the Gallery and, after they have been monitored for content, a link to them can be included in a post.

Hi MIGKY
NICOLA BELLAMACINA was married in 1917 in St. Giles Edinburgh...
His wife's first name was Quitta

As Mary says, you will find them quite easy on SP

Hi mary thanks for the welcome . the scotlandspeople site is where i got the copy of what i think is the death certificate but we think they could have married in italy? Also we think this family could have gone to Canada at some time but not sure when. so at the moment that is the only certificate we have and clue too.

Welcome to TalkingScot.

As well as the marriage for Nicola, www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk has a marriage for his son Albert.

As well as the death for Francisco, there's deaths for Alphonso, another son of Nicola, and Albert's wife.

The bride was a widow, so is indexed under both her previous married surname with which she signs, and her parents' surname. Pay to view one of the index entries and both will then show as "Paid" !
