Hi Natasha,
You can download the image of the 1854 banns/marriage record for this couple from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk on a pay per view basis. The marriage was in Argyll.
Pity they hadn't waited another couple of weeks and married in 1855. Then you would have had a marriage certificate with a lot more information on it.
All the best,
AndrewP

hi guys,
thanks so much for the tips, angus and mary had 13 children all up 1 born scotland 1853 another apparently born at sea and 11 after they arrived in tassie do have a copy of the 1851 cencus which does have mary as house servant but couldnt find angus, i do have an 1841 cencus which has an angus in it who fits in with the age but have no idea how to confirm if this is my angus, was in contact with someone from scotland who had an angus but unfortunately it wasnt mine, have tried to figure out with naming patterns but havent got anywhere with them either as i have first son being born as daniel. maybe i am destined to hit my head against a brick wall or go insane (which is starting to look like a real possibility at the moment
)
thanks again you are all wonderful
